The Fort Dodge Chili Lovers Society's 30th annual Chili Cook-off will be held Oct. 13 at the Fort Museum. Doors open for cooks at 7 a.m., and bowls for the public go on sale at 2:30 p.m.
A chili speed-eating contest will be held.
Prizes will be awarded for best tasting chili and people's choice. In the morning, teams may present a talent or skit in competition for the Wayne Goodno Showmanship Award.
Cooks will prepare chili over a charcoal or wood fire; no propane or electricity. Entry fee for teams is $25. For more information, find the Chili Lover's Society on Facebook or call Justin Goodno at 576-3673.
