SIOUX CITY - Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, bishop of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Texas, will be the guest speaker at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Francis Center, and at simulcast locations on campus. A reception will immediately follow.

DiNardo was the bishop of the Diocese of Sioux City from 1997 to 2004, which includes 24 counties in northwest Iowa including Webster.
After being named the coadjutor bishop of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston in 2004, he assumed the responsibilities of bishop of the diocese in 2006 and one year later was elevated to the College of Cardinals. Ordained to the priesthood in 1977, he holds degrees from Catholic University of America, the Pontifical Gregorian University and the Patristic Institute Augustinianum.
