Larry D. Crawford has pleaded guilty to two amended charges on the day he was supposed to begin his attempted murder trial.
Crawford, 44, pleaded guilty to one count of domestic abuse/assault, third or subsequent offense as a habitual offender and one count of assault causing serious injury as a habitual offender.
He admitted that, on March 2, he assaulted his ex-wife, Jolene Crawford, in their Fort Dodge home at 339 Loomis Ave. His actions caused Jolene Crawford to suffer a traumatic brain injury and left her unable to speak.

Larry Crawford's sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 4. He faces a possible maximum sentence of up to 30 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum of six years.
