Car collides with semitrailer north of Dayton

Two suffer non-life-threatening injuries in crash

DAYTON - Two people were taken to the hospital after a car collided with a semitrailer northeast of Dayton around 8 p.m. Friday.

Rescue crews from Dayton and Lehigh had to use extraction equipment to remove the female driver of the car after accident near 2740 330th St.

The semi, owned by Rock In C Trucking LLC, of Dayton, was backing into the driveway of a residence when the car, eastbound on 330th, ran into the trailer, according to officials on the scene.

The driver and a passenger, who were not identified Friday night, were taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center by Dayton Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Dayton Police, the Webster County Sheriff's Department, Iowa State Patrol, Dayton Fire and Rescue, and Lehigh Fire responded to the accident which closed the road for about an hour.
