A Fort Dodge house under construction was destroyed by a fire early Monday morning.
The Fort Dodge Fire Department was called to a fire at 3035 Soldier Ridge at about 1:45 a.m. The home was being built by Doyle Construction for Mark and Raeanne Marner, said Fort Dodge Fire Capt. Paul Neesan.
"The house was totally involved when we got there," he said. "Five people were called back to work. We remained on the scene until the shift change, then went back out for investigation until 11 this morning."
Neesan said the house was a total loss.
No one was injured. Another house under construction next door suffered some minor damage, Neesan said.
The house was still in the framing stage. The trusses were up, but there was no siding or shingles on the house, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
