Rich and Jo Seltz purchased the Dariette ice cream and sandwich shop seven years ago and run this Fort Dodge landmark from March to October each year.

A: The Dariette first opened in 1947

Q:How many full-time and part-time employees do you have?

A: Eight full time and 14 part-time employees

Q:What is the Dariette's niche?

A: Ice cream treats, malts, shakes, whips, and cones. We also feature the famous lemon ice cream that the Dariette is known for.

Q:What do you like about being located in downtown Fort Dodge?

A: It has been fun to be a part of revitalizing our downtown area. During the day, people from area businesses take a break and come to the Dariette. In the evenings, we bring families to downtown Fort Dodge to create fun memories.
