Community Bible Study classes will begin Sept. 5 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 239 N. 11th St. This is an interdenominational Bible study not affiliated with any church.
"There are lots of different churches involved, and all levels of Bible knowledge," said teaching director Michelle Pratkelis. "We have some who come that don't even own a Bible, all the way up to a seminary degree."
The Bible study meets from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursdays. A children's program is offered during the meetings for preschoolers and younger. Children will sing songs, learn memory verses, eat snacks, hear Bible stories and create a take-home craft.
The group can always use more members, Pratkelis said.
"We're studying Romans this year, and I think that's an excellent study," she said. "There are a lot of benefits to being in the word of God, but there are also other benefits like getting to know other women, from different churches."
