NEWS: A dedication ceremony was held in the new church building of St. Paul Lutheran.

SPORTS: Kurt Meyer, of Gowrie, hit a hole-in-one on the par-3, 195-yard third hole at the Spring Lake Golf Course.

NEWS: John Lizer, of Lizer Auctions, Gowrie, purchased the 1988 Webster County Fair grand champion market lamb from Maria Faiferlick, of Fort Dodge.

SPORTS: Jane Teubert pitched a one-hitter for Webster City as the Lynx beat North Polk 1-0 in the first round of the girls state softball tournament at Rogers Park.

Aug. 3, 1963

NEWS: Roxie Bunda, 18, of Fort Dodge, was elected a senator of state 4-H Leadership Camp for the 1963-1964 term.
