Laura's first love was for her family, insisting that her children all attend college and helped her four sons become Eagle Scouts. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and had a strong sense of volunteerism. She was a 55-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 119 and served as its County President for 27 years. She had held every office in the local unit and was active on the state level. She was also a member of Business and Professional Women and the Royal Neighbors and especially enjoyed dinners out with her friends.

Memorials will be made to benefit various community needs.
