Alyssa Olson tossed a two-hitter, leading Cedar Rapids Jefferson past city rival Cedar Rapids Prairie, 4-1, in the Class 5A fifth-place game Wednesday.
Olson collected eight strikeouts and allowed just one earned run.
Maddie Hansen went 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead Jefferson (33-12), while Dani Stromert and Kaitlyn Davidson each had a hit and a run scored.
Erin Kuba also drove in a pair in the win.
Olivia Usher drove in the only run of the game for Prairie (29-15).
Dubuque Senior 3, WDM Valley 0
A.J. Medinger silenced West Des Moines Valley Wednesday, leading Dubuque Senior to a 3-0 win the Class 5A fifth-place game.
Medinger had two strikeouts and allowed just a pair of hits, while Katie Sommer, Sydney Tigges and Jessie Westhoff each had two hits for Senior (34-9 overall).
Kristie Sommer, Tigges and pinch-hitter Katie Kramer all drove in runs.
Mackenzie Jones and Caitlyn Lennon collected base hits for the Tigers (26-17).
Winterset 7, Solon 4
Winterset's Karly Olson blasted a grand slam in the fifth inning to lead her team past Solon in the Class 4A fifth-place game at Rogers Park Wednesday, 7-4.
Olson, who also earned the win inside the circle, broke a 3-3 tie with her home run.
Savannah Marker had two hits and two RBI, while Ellie McDonald added two hits and two runs scored for Winterset (35-9 overall).
For the Spartans (41-4), Taylor Nearad, Kara Misel, Emma Rickels and Emily Ira all drove in runs.
Waverly-Shell Rock 10, Denison-Schleswig 6
Four runs in the first and four more in the fourth helped lead Waverly-Shell Rock past Denison-Schleswig, 10-6, in the Class 4A seventh-place game Wednesday.
Briley Emerson and Stacy Martin each had two hits, while Emerson scored three times.
Emily Brown drove in two, as did Jayde Flaig, for the Go-Hawks (36-8 overall).
Denison-Schleswig's (27-14) Shelby Pieper hit a two-run homer.
Mid-Prairie 6, Estherville-LC 2
Mid-Prairie picked up fifth-place honors in Class 3A Wednesday with a 6-2 victory over Estherville-Lincoln Central.
Michelle Erwin had two hits, as did Erika Murphy, to lead Mid-Prairie (32-11).
Felicia Schulty drove in a pair, as well, in the win. Mallory McArtor, Maddie Kaalberg and Erwin all plated a run each.
Caitlyn Clayton hit a home run to lead Estherville-LC (21-12).
Monticello 7, East Marshall 6 (8 inn.)
It took a little longer than planned, but Monticello came out on top in the Class 3A seventh-place game Wednesday with a 7-6, eight-inning victory over East Marshall.
Pitcher Erin Hosch drove in Allison Kraus for the winning run. Hosch also had five strikeouts for Monticello (32-8 overall).
Kraus scored three times, while Paxton Keleher had three RBI.
Haley Long was 3-for-4, wh ile Mariah Fritz drove in two on two hits. Kylee Hoskey also had two RBI.
Iowa City Regina 5, Lawton-Bronson 2
Iowa City Regina scored a 5-2 victory over Lawton-Bronson Wednesday to capture seventh-place honors in Class 2A.
With the win, the Regals finish the year at .500, 21-21.
Lexi Binder tossed a two-hitter for Lawton-Bronson (23-13) in defeat, but walked nine batters.
Meg Bonnett had two RBI and two runs scored, while also earning the win in relief.
Adrianna Junck collected two hits for Lawton-Bronson.
Lynnville-Sully 4, Remsen St. Mary's 3
A seventh-inning rally led Lynnville-Sully to a 4-3 win over Remsen St. Mary's in the Class 1A fifth-place game Wednesday.
Kristi Beyer scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly by Madison Rasmussen.
Rasmussen, who went 2-for-3, also earned the win inside the circle, striking out four for Lynnville-Sully (38-6 overall).
Alexis Bunkers had two hits for St. Mary's (29-8).
Earlier in the day, Remsen St. Mary's defeated returning state champion Martensdale-St. Mary's, 18-11 in eight innings.
Bunkers had five RBI, including a home run, while Melinda Gerrietts also drove in five on five hits.
Martensdale-St. Mary's 11, Janesville 2
Defending Class 1A state champion Martensdale-St. Mary's settled for seventh here Wednesday, defeating Janesville, 11-2.
Jamie Jordan was 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored for St. Mary's (31-4 overall), while Emma Ferin also drove in a pair.
Gentry Davidson had two hits and Riley Verwers earned the win in the circle.
For Janesville (16-10), Victoria Leyh was 2-for-4.
