NEWS: Michael Stock, a Clarion fourth-grader, was going to Washington, D.C., as a finalist in the national "Invent America" competition with his invention, "Baseball Buddy."

SPORTS: Former Dodger diver Mary Fischbach was third in the voting for Big Ten women's Athlete of the Year as a student at the University of Michigan.
