CLARION - Pushing its winning streak to four straight games, the St. Edmond baseball team recorded a 6-2 victory over Clarion-Goldfield Friday night.
Aaron Chalstrom recorded three hits and a RBI for the Gaels (14-12 overall, 9-7 in the North Central Conference), who tallied a season-high 12 hits.
Matthew Bocken and Cal Coleman each added a pair of hits for SEHS. Bocken also drove in two, while Coleman stole two bases and chipped in a RBI.
"We're still trying and working at it offensively, but we're not a finished product by any means," said SEHS head coach Joe Shanks. "It's a simple game when you make routine plays and throw strikes."
Chalstrom (2-1) went the first five innings in the win, walking two with one strikeout.
"Aaron got groundballs and flyballs for outs," Shanks said. "(The Cowboys) made some nice defensive plays, but we got good pitching and put the ball in play."
