HUMBOLDT - Falling for a third straight game, the St. Edmond baseball team dropped a 9-4 decision to Humboldt here on Monday night.
Hank Crimmins went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Gaels (10-12 overall, 5-7 North Central Conference), while Cal Coleman added a two-run triple.
"(The Wildcats) hit pitches hard and drove them," said SEHS head coach Joe Shanks. "We were leading the game after Cal's triple in the fourth inning, but we just couldn't hold them. They really showed an aggressiveness at the plate and an intensity that we didn't match."
Chris Witzke tallied three hits for the Wildcats (16-5, 11-4), while Ryan Lee and Austin Zylstra each chipped in a pair of hits. As a team, Humboldt racked up 13 hits, including six doubles in the victory.
Ben Jacobson (4-2) earned the win on the mound for the Wildcats.
"We did some nice things at the plate at times, but Jacobson limited the damage and kept us from getting a breakthrough hit," Shanks said.
