The Cyclone Tailgate Tour will make a stop in Fort Dodge on Thursday, as it will set up shop at Fort Dodge Ford Toyota beginning at noon.

Iowa State athletics gives back to communities, and this year is no different as they've launched their "Making a difference across Cyclone Nation" tour.

The Cyclone Tailgate event - a traveling caravan featuring coaches, student-athletes, spirit squads, Cy, interactive games, inflatable attractions for kids, and door prizes - makes stops across the state annually.

The event is free and open to all fans and friends of the Cyclones.

"This has been our way for us to get out in the state and say thanks,'' said Iowa State Athletics Director Jamie Pollard in a press release. "We (the athletics department) get to do what we do because of what Cyclone fans allow us to do.

"These events continue to be great "friendraisers" and an excellent chance to build up our next generation of Cyclones with young children.''

"With a new dealership in Ames, we've developed a great relationship with Iowa State,'' said Fort Dodge Ford Toyota co-owner Casey Johnson. "Jamie Pollard, Fred Hoiberg, Paul Rhoads and Bill Fennelly are scheduled to come.

"They haven't been to Fort Dodge in three years, so we're excited.''

Food will be served at 11:30 p.m. and HyVee will be catering the event, which is slated to run until 2 p.m.

"We're putting up seating for a couple 100 people and we'll have it set up nice in the show room,'' Johnson said. "We're hoping for a good crown and it's a neat thing to get them back in town."
