WAUKEE - The Fort Dodge boys track team placed third at the Warrior Relays Tuesday night.
The Dodgers tallied 93 points. Host Waukee (150) and Des Moines Lincoln (148) were first and second.
Connor Hubbard (discus, 153-8), Riley Prescott (shotput, 46-8) and Cray Washington (100, 10.94) were all individual champions for FDSH. Washington's handheld clocking (10.7) in the 100 actually tied Brad Klein (2001) for the school record.
"It was a beautiful night, and our kids ran really well," said Fort Dodge head coach John McBride. "Cray obviously ran a fantastic race and was nipped right at the end of the 200 as well. We're starting to see where we'll be able to put some things for districts."
Placing second for the Dodgers were Washington (200, 22.63) and Keegan Jones (400 hurdles, 55.76), while the shuttle hurdle (Tyler Vaughn, Austin Anderson, Adrean Johnson and Jones, 1:02.35), the 4x200 (Keegan Myers, JC Hatcher, Austin Anderson and Washington, 1:44.03), the medley (Tommy Halligan, Wesley Castro, Joey Gerdes and Caleb Asay, 4:02.76) and the 4x100 (Myers, Austin Anderson, Jones and Washington, 44.88) were all third.
In addition, Vaughn (high jump, 5-8), Thomas Thompson (3200, 10:33.73) and the 4x800 (Nic Ganzeveld, Asay, Bryce Rogers and Desmond Green, 9:15.69) each finished fourth. Gerdes (long jump, 10-7.5), Michael Carlson (discus, 123-6), Zach Anderson (400, 54.33), Myers (200, 23.16) and the 4x400 (Austin Anderson, Myers, Jones and Zach Anderson, 3:36.77) all checked in fifth, while Jake Porter (shotput, 43-6.5) was sixth.
Next outing for the Dodgers is Thursday at the CIC meet in Waukee.
