Humboldt to host IHSMA state music contest

HUMBOLDT - The Iowa High School Music Association Large Group Festival will be held on Friday at Humboldt High School, with choir performances beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium and bands at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students grades K through 12, for admission to all performances throughout the evening. Humboldt Music Boosters are providing concessions for the event.

Twenty choirs and eight bands from area high schools will be performing throughout the late afternoon and evening. Participating schools include Humboldt, Algona, Hampton-Dumont, Garner-Hayfield, Estherville-Lincoln Center, Forest City, Webster City, and Clear Lake. Approximately 2,000 students will perform at their best level of the school year.
