Behind a pair of strong pitching performances, the Iowa Central baseball team swept an ICCAC doubleheader from Kirkwood Saturday at Ed Barbour Field.
The Tritons (23-10 overall, 8-6 in the league) prevailed by scores of 4-0 and 3-2.
Tyler Peyton went 2-for-3 in the opener for Iowa Central, while Andy De Jesus drove in two and Dawson Porter scored twice.
Peyton (4-2) also fired a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits with 11 strikeouts.
In the nightcap, the Tritons received two more hits from Peyton and a pair of RBI by Justin Threkeld.
Fort Dodge graduate and University of Iowa recruit Will Kenny (6-2) picked up the win on the mound, surrendering only one hit and one run - with six strikeouts - over six innings of work. Nolan Webster recorded the final three outs for his fourth save of the year.

Iowa Central, which played errorless baseball, outhit Kirkwood (19-9, 7-7) 14-5 on the afternoon.
"We played really well (yesterday), had two great pitching performances and looked like us from the beginning of the year ," said ICCC head coach Rick Pederson. "Hopefully, we can kind of shoot out of our little midseason funk now."
Both squads will square off in another twinbill today. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
