HUMBOLDT - "Rooted in Our Communities" is the theme for the 2012 Corn Belt Power Cooperative Annual Meeting April 3 at the Best Western Starlite Village, Fort Dodge. The theme centers on Corn Belt Power's commitment to the communities it serves with reliable, affordable electricity.

The keynote speaker will be Ambassador Mary Kramer, now retired from her service in Barbados, who will present "Confessions of an Unlikely Diplomat."

Corn Belt Power, headquartered at Humboldt, is a generation and transmission electric cooperative providing power to nine electric cooperatives and one municipal cooperative that serve farms, rural residences, small towns and commercial/industrial members in 41 northern Iowa counties.

The business portion of the meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will include reports on Corn Belt Power's 2012 operations and financial status. Donald Feldman, president of the board of directors, and Kenneth Kuyper, executive vice president and general manager, will give updates on cooperative business.

Elections will be held for representatives to the Corn Belt Power board of directors from Butler County REC, Calhoun County REC, Franklin REC, Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative, Midland Power Cooperative and Raccoon Valley Electric Cooperative.
