Y.O.U.R. Inc. Head Start preschool will host an open house and registration for 2013-2014 classes on March 25 and March 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. Head Start staff will be available at 3611 Maple Drive. An interpreter will be available. Each child will receive a free book.
Head Start is a federally funded child development program that works toward school readiness through social and educational activities. This program is open to income eligible and special needs children from 3 to 5 years of age. Children must be 3 years old by Sept. 15; children who are 4 years old by Sept. 15 will be given preference for enrollment. Acceptance is based on family income. Families who receive FIP or SSI for any family member, children in foster care or families who are homeless automatically qualify.
A free breakfast and lunch are served each day. Classes meet daily for four hours and will be offered at Maple Drive and at Riverside Early Learning Center. Limited bus transportation may be available for qualifying families. There is no fee for the preschool program.
Children eligible for State Funded Voluntary Preschool program may apply to attend for the $50 one-time enrollment fee.
