The Fort Dodge Community School District is preparing for kindergarten roundup.

Parents/guardians who have a child ready to enter kindergarten in the fall should notify their child's home school now so the district can register the child into a roundup session.

Students planning on entering kindergarten in the Fort Dodge Community School District in the fall are invited to attend the roundup April 5-12.

The round-up schedule is:

April 5 - Butler

April 8 - Riverside

April 9 - Feelhaver

April 11 - Duncombe

April 12 - Cooper

During roundup, incoming students will experience a kindergarten day routine and spend time with their kindergarten teacher. At the same time, parents/guardians will meet with the building principal and other staff members where they will learn about school curriculum and have many opportunities to ask questions.

A child must be 5 years of age by Sept. 15 to be eligible to start kindergarten in the fall of 2013. If you have a child eligible for kindergarten, please call your home school to register for roundup and for further information.

If you are not sure which school is your home school, contact the Central Administration Building at 576-1161. Where you live determines which school roundup you must attend.

For additional information, contact Lis Ristau, kindergarten roundup coordinator, at 574-5891
