PATON - June E. King, 89, of Paton passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City.

A family graveside service will be Sunday, February 24 at the Paton Township Cemetery. Palmer and Sons Funeral Home is serving the family.

June is survived by her son, and Ronald King and wife Vanessa of Gowrie; grandchildren, Rawley (Amy) King of Waukee; Arkay (David) Brown of Ankeny; and Ronley King of Gowrie; and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ethan, Emmett, and James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Etta (Hart) Hupp; husband, Ivan; sons, Richardand Russell and sisters, Genevieve Moore, Hazel Lagore, and Beulah Willison.

June Elizabeth Hupp was born June 2, 1923 in Coon Rapids, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Coon Rapids where she graduated from Coon Rapids High School. After graduation June first worked candling eggs. She then worked as a waitress at Amour's in Des Moines and Gowrie and later Country House Restaurant. On February 14, 1944 June was united in marriage to Ivan King. The couple farmed in the Glidden and Farnhamville areas until retiring in Paton in 1980. June was a member of the Church of the Bretheran in Slifer. In August of 2012 June became a resident of Shady oaks in Lake City.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
