David Clair Conrad, 69, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Wednes-day at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
David was born to Richard and Vivian Conrad on May 2, 1943 in Fort Dodge. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Dodge and attended Fort Dodge schools. He owned and operated several businesses in the Fort Dodge area including The Dug Out and Fort Dodge Monument & Engraving. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing.
He is survived by his long-time companion Carolyn Poppen of Fort Dodge; son Tyson (Sheryl) Conrad of Palm Harbor, Fl; daughter Stacey (Jon) Seaver of Humboldt, Iowa; brother Mike (Sharon) Conrad of Ankeny, IA; sisters Cindy (Tony) Peterson of Camp Verde, AZ, Bobbie Conrad of Tucson, AZ, and Pat Conrad of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren including Brooklyn, Cruz, Brandon, Emily, Chloe, Parker, Preston, Mikaela and Zachary.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Vivian, brother Richard and ex-wife Janet Conrad.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
