The Iowa Central women had little trouble earning their 15th victory of the season, rolling past Southwestern Thursday night, 85-40.
The Tritons (15-5 overall, 6-2 in ICCAC) jumped out to a 40-16 advantage after the first half, as four players reached double figures.
Babaya Oja tallied a game-high 14, while Katie Dentlinger added 12. Lauren Bengen and Lydia Harvey each scored 11, as Iowa Central went over the 70-point mark for a ninth time this season.
"Since we went to this four-guard lineup, I feel like our offense has really been able to get out and run the floor," ICCC head coach Craig Carlson said. "It gives us four capable ballhandlers and plenty of shooters to space out the opposing defenses."
Bengen also had nine rebounds, while Harvey grabbed six. Theresa Doyle and Koyamainavure each dished out three assists. Iowa Central closed the first half on a 17-2 run, turning a 23-14 game into a 24-point lead.
"I felt like Lydia had an excellent floor game, probably one of her best this year," Carlson said. "Southwestern has struggled this year, but they played hard and made us work for everything."
