Mustangs clinch TLC

NEWELL - The second-ranked Newell-Fonda girls basketball team won the Twin Lakes Conference championship with a 52-42 victory over South Central Calhoun on Friday night.

Renee Maneman led the Mustangs (17-1 overall) with 28 points.

Haley Birks paced South Central Calhoun with 22.

Cougars win ninth straight game

ALTA - The Manson Northwest Webster girls earned their ninth straight victory with a 67-41 win over Alta-Aurelia on Friday night.

Ellie Herzberg, who is third in the state in scoring, led the Cougars (15-2 overall) with 28 points. Faith Troshynski added 19.

Micah Barnes led Alta-Aurelia with 11 points.

STORM LAKE - The Pocahontas Area girls picked up a 59-37 victory over Storm Lake St. Mary's on Friday night.

Macey Bales led the Indians (8-10 overall) with 20 points. Hannah Stafford added 11 and Ashley Radig chipped in with 10.

Jasmine Demers had 12 points for Storm Lake St. Mary's.

EAGLE GROVE - The Eagle Grove girls picked up their second win of the season, beating Webster City 54-37 on Friday night.

Sam Kruckenberg led the Eagles with 14 points. Kylee Almond added 12.

Hannah Myers led the Lynx with 13 points.

Sadie Poldervaart paced Corwith-CWL with 10.
