To the editor:
The other day I noted an article in The Messenger concerning legislation that state Rep. Tom Shaw, R-Laurens, will or has introduced. It is a bill that would repeal laws banning guns in and around schools. This would allow visitors, teachers, administrators, staff, and I would assume students who are of lawful age, to carry guns on school grounds. I would assume this law would also apply to the Iowa statehouse.
If not, why not?
What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Is this another case of laws and benefits for the public and a different set for legislators?
