Chad Hammar was recently named Friendship Haven's development coordinator.
A native of Farnhamville, Hammar earned his master of business administration degree from Drake University in 2009 following a career in the banking industry in Callender, Altoona and Urbandale, where his roles included vice president, commercial lender, and business development officer.
After serving as the Hardin County director and later the Marshall and Tama County director for Mid-Iowa Community Action, Hammar was named foundation director for the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. From April 2011 to October 2012, he spearheaded a successful capital campaign that raised nearly $7 million to build a new hospital.
An open house to welcome Hammar is scheduled for Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Celebration Center.
