AMES - The Fort Dodge girls basketball team dropped their third consecutive contest, losing to Ames 64-36 on Friday night.
The Dodgers (3-10 overall, 0-3 CIC) struggled to stop Ames' offense, as the Little Cyclones went on spurts to out-distance themselves.
"They made a couple of runs and we couldn't come back,'' said Fort Dodge head coach Scott Timmerman. "We were down 12 with under two minutes to go before half and they made a couple of buckets and went up 16.
"We cut it to 13 with five to go in the third and they went on a 7-0 run.''
Ashley Altman had a big second half for the Dodgers, scoring 11 of her team high 13 points in the second half.
Lexi Astor and Lani Van Zyl had eight points each for the Dodgers.
