To the editor:

A child is "raised" by parents, guardians, relatives, friends, neighbors, teachers, etc., etc., etc.

A fireman telling students about his/her experiences may well influence a boy or girl to some day take up this honorable profession.

One hour a month and you can and will inspire a child, by reading a story or by showing your hobby to eager minds.

A donation of any amount will provide services, materials, food and many other necessary items for over 100 students at Athletics for Education and Success right here in Fort Dodge.

Join us this Saturday at AFES (old Hillcrest School), 713 Third St. N.W., Fort Dodge, 2 to 4 p.m., $15 for fun, food and music.

If you are unable to attend, visit afes4kids.org or mail a check to P.O. Box 1482, Fort Dodge, IA 50501.
