To the editor:
College football has ended with another blowout in the title game. The network almost assuredly suffered low ratings, given that Notre Dame was overmatched.
But there are more problems in college athletics than final scores. Big 10 conference has 12 teams. The Big 12 is several short of having 12 teams. perhaps our college presidents and athletic directors don't know much about arithmetic.
The Pacific Athletic Conference includes a team from Colorado and the Big East includes teams in Chicago and Louisville. The same conference considered a team from Idaho. These leaders evidently, don't know much geography.
Finally the question of bending and breaking NCAA rules. The recruiting violations and other scandals appear to confirm that our leaders in institutions of higher learning don't know much about integrity.
