The Fort Dodge boys swim team earned a 92-75 conference victory over Mason City in a dual meet here Thursday night.
Winning gold for the Dodgers were Alex Hage (200 freestyle, 1:57.28), Cal Brandt (200 individual medley, 2:15.20), 1:00.35), Rob Leigh (100 butterfly, 1:00.35), Josh Lee (100 freestyle, 50.31 and 50 freestyle, 22.87), Austin Sanford (100 backstroke, 1:04.18), Nick Sanford (100 breaststroke, 1:09.49), the 200 medley relay (Cal Brandt, Nick Sanford, Lee and Leigh, 1:47.00), the 200 freestyle relay (Austin Sanford, Bennett Lang, Caleb Asay and Aaron Brandt, 1:40.77) and the 400 freestyle relay (Lee, Hage, Cal Brandt and Leigh, 3:31.26).
Turning in runner-up performances for FDSH were Leigh (50 freestyle, 24.23), Hage (500 freestyle, 5:26.41), Asay (100 backstroke, 1:04.99), Aaron Brandt (100 breaststroke, 1:12.10) and the 200 medley relay (Zach Provin, Aaron Brandt, Nick Pecka and Nick Sanford, 1:55.51).
In addition, the Dodgers received third-place showings from Lang (100 freestyle, 55.95 and 200 freestyle, 1:57.28), Provin (100 backstroke, 1:05.63), the 200 freestyle relay ( Pecka, Peter Lyon, Reid Cooper and Hage, 1:44.90) and the 400 freestyle relay (Lang, Pecka, Tucker Van Wey and Asay, 3:50.65).
"We're definitely starting to look better after having kind of a little setback at Marshalltown (in a 99.5-70.5 loss last week)," said FDSH head coach Joel Greathouse. "Everyone came together (Thursday) and improved their times throughout the lineup, which should give us some momentum heading into Saturday."
Fort Dodge hosts its annual Rusty Garst Invitational Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
