HUMBOLDT - The Humboldt boys escaped with a thrilling 57-56 upset victory over No. 2 (Class 3A) Iowa Falls-Alden Friday night.
Michael Orness sparked the Wildcats (7-2 overall, 6-2 North Central Conference) with 17 points.
Bryan Larson (16) and Ben Jacobsen (10) were the other top offensive performers for Humboldt, which led by double digits at the half.
For the Cadets (7-1, 7-1), Casey Schlatter poured in a game-high 29 points.
