'Cats knock off

No. 2 IF-A

HUMBOLDT - The Humboldt boys escaped with a thrilling 57-56 upset victory over No. 2 (Class 3A) Iowa Falls-Alden Friday night.

Michael Orness sparked the Wildcats (7-2 overall, 6-2 North Central Conference) with 17 points.

Bryan Larson (16) and Ben Jacobsen (10) were the other top offensive performers for Humboldt, which led by double digits at the half.

For the Cadets (7-1, 7-1), Casey Schlatter poured in a game-high 29 points.

Brad Bohe led the Mustangs (7-2 overall) with 21 points. Dalton Anderson added 15 points.

Aaron Youngberg led the Indians (7-3) with 29 points. Logan Jepsen added 10.

Nathan Krieps contributed a game-high 26 points for the Golden Bears (7-4 overall, 6-3 NCC).

Brayton Loss and John Burns each chipped in 18 points for Garrigan.

For the Cowboys (1-7, 1-6), Trenton Sann and Max Gangestad both tallied 15 points.
