EAGLE GROVE - The St. Edmond boys basketball team earned a convincing 70-38 victory over Eagle Grove Friday night.
Robby Burke and David Flattery each posted double-doubles for the Gaels. Burke had 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Flattery had 17 points, 15 boards and seven assists.
"We were able to get a couple of steals and turn them into easy baskets on the other end and that really allowed us to build a lead," SEHS head coach Adolph Kochendorfer said. "(Eagle Grove) did a nice job of slowing us down in the first, but we stayed strong, moved the ball well on offense and played good defense."
St. Edmond (7-3 overall, 6-3 in NCC) led by just two after the first quarter, but pushed the advantage to 36-14 by halftime.
Brandon Johnson scored 11 for the Eagles.
Aaron McElroy had seven assists and two steals for the Gaels, while Alex Mericle added six points and nine boards.
