LifeServe Blood Center will host the "Be a Holiday Hero" blood drive from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Crossroads Mall, 217 S. 25th St. No appointments are necessary.
Busy holiday schedules, poor winter weather conditions and the cold and flu season have a big impact on the local blood supply during the winter months. Demand for blood remains constant, but donations are typically lower during this time of year. Donations from healthy, volunteer donors are needed to maintain a stable supply of life-saving blood products.
Everyone who participates in the blood drive will receive a free T-shirt.
Eligible blood donors must be at least 16 years old, should weigh at least 120 pounds and should be in general good health. For more information about blood donation call (800) 287-4903 or visit www.lifeservebloodcenter.org.
