Loretta Sternitzke, 84, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday December, 21st 2012 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 28th 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. David Grindberg, Pastor of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Ron) Peterson of Fort Dodge; grandsons, David Peterson of Fort Dodge, Ian (Holly) Peterson of Fort Dodge; great grandson, Bailen Peterson of Fort Dodge; a brother, Lowell Peterson of Colorado Springs, CO; and sister, Eleanor Voss of Woolstock IA.
Loretta is preceded in death by her husband, David; parents Arthur and Josephine (Lind) Peterson; sisters, Arlene Habermehl, Ellen Wheat, Marge Peltz; brothers, Herbert, Orville, Larry, Glenn, and Devon.
Loretta M. Peterson was born on August 13, 1928 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. On October 26, 1948 Loretta was united in marriage to David Sternitzke in Fort Dodge. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Loretta worked for Tobin Packing Co later to be named Hormel's until 1956 and then for Ridgewood Lanes for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the WBC for many years. Loretta especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She and her grandson David and had a special bond and love that started with Loretta helping David in the beginning, and David helping her in the end.
