OTHO - Richard "Dick" E. Crouse, 73, of Otho passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Marian Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Lyle Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at Holiday Creek Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Dick is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Julie Jones; Bobbie Mack; Richard Crouse; Teresa Crouse; Justin Crouse all of Fort Dodge; and Troy Crouse of Lakeville, MN; step-children, Scott Phelps of Holstein; Brenda Holloway of Phoenix, AZ; and Kristin Phelps of Webster City; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth of Lehigh and Larry of Coalville; and sister, Joyce Rork of Otho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Arlene (Welfare) Crouse; grandson, Marshall Mack; brothers, Donald, Robert, and Dennis.

Richard Eugene Crouse was born September 4, 1939 in Fort Dodge. Richard was raised and educated in Otho, graduating from Otho High School in 1958. After graduation Dick worked for Davenport Elevator in Fort Dodge. On May 26, 1967 Richard was united in marriage to Carol Phelps the couple established their home in Otho. Richard then was employed with Gus Glazer Meats, Olson Distributing, Custom Feed Blenders, and Pre-Mixers all in Fort Dodge. After working for Chantlands in Humboldt in 1990 he began working for Becker Gravel of Stratford. He was known as "Grandpa Dick" to all the kids in Otho. Dick was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
