LAURENS - Investigators are looking into two unattended deaths that were discovered on the same day three hours apart.
The bodies of the two victims, whose names have not been released, were discovered on Sunday.
According to Laurens Police Chief Chris Toner, the first body was found at 336 Sadie St. around 2:17 p.m. Officers found the body of a white woman in the backyard.
Almost three hours later, at 5:06 p.m., Toner said Laurens police responded to 213 S. Section Line Road, No. 8, regarding another unattended death. There they found the body of a white man in the bedroom.
Both bodies were taken to the Division of Criminal Investigation Lab in Ankeny for an autopsy. Police don't believe a crime was committed, according to Toner.
The Laurens Police Department was assisted by the Pocahontas County Sheriff's Office, Laurens Ambulance Service and the Pocahontas County Medical Examiner.
