Investigators are still looking into the case of a man getting shot early Wednesday morning in what police are calling an attempted murder.
Officers said Thursday there had been no new developments in the case.
Police were called to Trinity Regional Medical Center around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday after a man checked himself in with a gunshot wound, according to a statement from Police Chief Tim Carmody.
The victim, Kyle Myers, 32, had been shot in the abdomen, according to Carmody.
The FDPD shift log indicates the weapon may have been a handgun.
As officers began investigating the shooting, information led them to 1615 Third Ave. S. That address's connection to the shooting has not been revealed by police.
Myers was last reported to be in stable condition at Trinity, where he was being treated.
Carmody said the investigation is still in its early stages and added detectives are in the process of going over evidence, interviewing witnesses and looking for additional information on the shooting.
Anyone who may have information on the shooting is asked to call Det. Ryan Gruenberg at 573-1426 or Crime Stoppers at 573-1444.
