DES MOINES - The Iowa Central women's basketball team was firing on all cylinders Monday night, rolling to a lopsided 100-46 road victory over AIB JV.
The Tritons (9-3 overall) connected on 16 three-pointers, which is the second highest single-game total in program history (17 in 2007-08 is the record). Iowa Central has now reached the century mark on 14 occasions all-time, including twice this year against the Eagles.
"This was a good game for us to go into the winter break on," said ICCC head coach Craig Carlson. "It's beeen a long time since we shot the three like we did (Monday), which was pretty exciting."
Allison Seibert and Lauren Bengen each netted 19 points, including five triples apiece for the Tritons.
Katie Dentlinger (16) and St. Edmond graduate Lydia Harvey (13) also reached double figures in scoring for Iowa Central, which has now reeled off three straight victories.
"We know we have to take this win with a grain of salt since AIB was a little overmatched," Carlson said. "I was happy, though, to see 10 kids get into the scoring column."
