GOWRIE - Marie G. Anderson, age 93, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Gowrie Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Callender with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Gowrie Township Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie.

Survivors include daughters, Cheryl (Larry) Decker of Urbandale and Renae (Steve) Lane of Farnhamville; seven grandchildren, Holly Kiddoo, Steve Decker, Lori (Troy) Roovers, Jason (Tina) Decker, Bradley (Jennifer) Lane, Brian (Jessica) Lane, Tiffany (Cody) Christensen and fifteen great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, Frank and Martha (Ostlin) Lundberg; husband, Hollis; sisters, Sadie Mossberg and Evelyn Anderson, and brothers, Leonard Lundberg, Elmerine Lundberg, and Paul Lundberg.

Marie Lundberg Anderson was born on April 11, 1919 to Frank and Martha Lundberg at the family country home in Burnside, Iowa. She attended school at Burnside, graduating from Burnside High School in 1936. She then graduated from Tobin Business College in 1937. Marie worked various jobs in Ft.Dodge, including Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She was united in marriage to Hollis Anderson on December 29, 1940 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside. They farmed on the family farm northwest of Gowrie until moving into Gowrie in 1985. Marie loved music and sang in the Webster County Chorus and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Choir in Callender for many years. She did a lot of solo singing for the church and for funerals. Marie was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, WELCA and Mary Martha Circle. She loved to play cards and as a member of the Country Club, playedcards for many years and also belonged to a Card Marathon group.
