Ellen Merrick and Matthew Schill, of St. Louis, Mo., are engaged.
Parents of the couple are Sharon and Michael Merrick, Alexandria, Va.; and Sheryl and Robert Schill, of Fort Dodge.

Merrick graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. She is enrolled in the MD/PhD program at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine.
Schill earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa. He is a fourth-year medical student at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine.
