MANSON - The Senior Choir of Our Savior United Methodist Church in Manson will be performing a cantata based around one of the most popular and cherished songs written by Bill and Gloria Gaither, "Jesus There's Something About That Name." This presentation will use a recorded CD accompaniment to enhance the meaning of the music, and will be presented during the regular 10:15 worship service on Sunday. The public is invited to attend and worship that day.
This 40-minute presentation combines narration, hymns and familiar favorites, along with new songs from several popular Christian composers. Russell Mauldin and Tony Wood have created a musical that retells God's purpose and plan to send Jesus.
Selections include familiar hymns such as "O Come All Ye Faithful," "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," "Here I Am To Worship," "Joy To The World," "Go, Tell It On The Mountain," and "Get All Excited," along with contemporary Christian songs like "Blessed Be The Child," "Cherish That Name," and "Living In Me."
Soloists featured include Rita Cue, Deb Parkison, Karen Wallace, Ted George, and Shari Netz, and Jerrold Jimmerson directs the choir.
