ALGONA - The North Central Iowa Chapter of the Compassionate Friends will hold their Candle Lighting Service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Lutheran Church, 226 N. Putnam St., Algona.
The Compassionate Friends is a worldwide organization that helps with grief support for families who have lost a child. Parents, grandparents, siblings and friends are welcome to attend.
The program Sunday evening consists of music, a few readings, lighting of the candles and sharing time with refreshments. Families are invited to bring a photo or memento of their child and, if they would like, a snack to share.
