HAMPTON - The eighth-ranked (Class 2A) St. Edmond boys crushed Hampton-Dumont Tuesday night, 67-30.
Robby Burke had 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Gaels (3-0 overall, 3-0 in North Central Conference).
Aaron Chalstrom knocked down six three-pointers, finishing with 18 points. David Flattery had seven points, 10 boards, aseven assists and two steals, while Aaron McElroy dished out eight assists and had three steals.
"We did a good job of ball reversal, working to get the ball inside to the open man," SEHS head coach Adolph Kochendorfer said. "Aaron's outside shooting helped open things up.
"Hampton-Dumont starts three sophomores and is in a rebuilding year, but they worked hard."
The Gaels controlled the glass, outrebounding the Bulldogs (0-3, 0-2), 42-18.

St. Edmond pushed a 10-point advantage to 35-12 at halftime.
"We've done a nice job rebounding the basketball this year," said Kochendorfer, as the Gaels hold a 132-59 advantage through three games this season. "We'll need to keep that up if we want to continue to have success."
Next up for St. Edmond is a meeting with Algona inside the Gael gym on Friday night. The Bulldogs (2-1, 2-0) defeated Clarion-Goldfield last night, 60-56.
