FD council to handle reports, grant apps

The Fort Dodge City Council will address some administrative matters during a Monday meeting.

The council will meet at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.

The council is expected to take these actions:

Approve annual expenditures of tax increment financing revenue;

Approve tax increment financing and annual financial reports;

Apply for a $400,000 grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to be used for checking for contamination downtown and along Fifth Avenue South.

The council wasn't originally scheduled to meet on Monday because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

However, Jeff Nemmers, the city clerk and finance director, told the elected officials last week that the financial reports must be filed by Dec. 1 and the grant application is due Dec. 3.
