Delila L. Nelson, 78, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the Villa Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 26 at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Erling Shultz officiating. Interment will be held in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Survivors include her children Pamela (Joe) Grandors Jr., Monte (Linda) Leadley, both of Fort Dodge, Craig (Marie) Leadley of Spring Valley, CA, Jerry (Joann) Leadley, Tamra Wingert, Rodney (Chris) Leadley, all of Fort Dodge, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and her sister Phyllis Eaton of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Leo Leadley in 1986, her husband Loran Nelson in 1991, her son Terry Leadley, her brothers Carl and Bob and her sisters Madline Huen, Pauline Schultz, Berdena Trenary, Norma Craig, Lois Knowles and Beatrice Fisher.
DELILA L. NELSON
Delila Craig, the daughter of Ernest and Olive (Weaver) Craig, was born March 22, 1934 in Pioneer, Iowa. She attended Gilmore City Schools and lived in Gilmore City until 1953, moving to Pocahontas and then in 1958 to Fort Dodge. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Delila was employed at Friendship Haven for 20 years as a dietary aide. She enjoyed being with family, bowling, sewing and knitting and collected angels and bears.
