Lucille F. Fitzgerald, 94 of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at The Gardens of Friendship Haven.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m., November 27th at Corpus Christi Church, with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., where there will be a Vigil at 6:00 p.m.
Lucille is survived by her sister, Geraldine Dodd of Fort Dodge; daughter-in-law, Sharon Fitzgerald of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Jimmy and Maggie Fitzgerald both of Fort Dodge; and 5 nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Stella (White) Halligan; husband, James H. Fitzgerald; her son, James E. Fitzgerald, and a brother Julian Halligan.
Lucille Frances Halligan was born November 29, 1917 in Clayworks, Iowa. She attended Clayworks Schools until the 8th Grade and then graduated from Corpus Christi High School. Lucille then attended Clarke College in Dubuque. On November 30, 1940 she was united in marriage to James H. Fitzgerald at Corpus Christi Church. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. She was employed with the Webster County General Relief Office until they moved to California where Jim was stationed in the U.S. Navy. Upon his honorable discharge the couple again returned to Fort Dodge. For a number of years Lucille worked for the Trost Insurance Co. She became a homemaker when they started their family. She was a devoted mother and loving wife. Lucille was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Church.
