An investigation continues into a Nov. 16 assault that left two men seriously injured, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department.
Around 3:13 a.m. Friday, officers were sent to 1428 Eighth Ave. S. after someone called and said a man was lying in the front yard there, according to Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody.
When officers arrived, they found Matthew Ebner, 51, of Fort Dodge, shirtless and face down on the sidewalk. They examined Ebner and found injuries to both his head and torso.
The officers' investigation led them to 1414 Eighth Ave. S. where they found Walter Wachter, 54, of Fort Dodge, semiconscious.
Ebner and Wachter were both taken by ambulance to Trinity Regional Medical Center, but were later airlifted to other Iowa hospitals because of the extent of the injuries.
