Georgia escapees caught in Fort Dodge

Two escapees from a Georgia jail were apprehended in Fort Dodge Tuesday.

Matthew S. Findley, 24, and Jeffery R. Webb, 26, were wanted for escaping from the Emanuel County Jail in Swainsboro, Ga., on Nov.11. Both subjects were from the Swainsboro, Ga., area.

On Tuesday, members of the Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff's Office and the United States Marshals Service developed information that the two were in the Fort Dodge area and possibly staying at 666 Riverside St. N.W.

At approximately 1 p.m., officers went to that address in an attempt to locate the men. Officers saw Findley look out a front door window and entered the home. Both men were located and apprehended without further incident.

Findley was originally charged with murder and Webb for burglary and were awaiting court proceedings at the time of their escape from jail. Both Findley and Webb will face extradition hearings in Webster County.
