Huge rally saves Iowa Central men

BOONE - The Iowa Central men's basketball team overcame an 18-point second half deficit to defeat previously-unbeaten John Wood (Ill.) Friday night, 56-54.

Rhys Elliot sank a three-pointer with 20 seconds to go to give the Tritons (4-2 overall) their first and only lead of the game. Elliot finished with 10 points, while Jawad Adekoya had a team-high 13.

With 11:30 left in the game, John Wood (5-1) led by 18. They were paced by T.J. Tisdahll's 10.

David Andersen added six points and eight rebounds for the Tritons, who return to action today against Black Hawk-East at 2 p.m. in the Baymont Inn Classic hosted by DMACC.

The Bears defeated Black Hawk-East yesterday, 72-44.
