WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. - Candace Linnea Burns 85, passed away November 10, 2012
There will be a Visitation at Parkview United Church of Christ, 3737 Bellaire, White Bear Lake, Mn 55110, at Monday November 12th from 6:00 pm- 8:00pm and Tuesday November 13th from 10:00 - 11:00 with Funeral at 11:00 with lunch to follow.
Candace Westberg Burns was born February 2, 1927 to Martin and Edith Westberg in Minneapolis, Mn.. Graduated from Patrick Henry High School ,Mpls. In 1945 and went on to attend Gustavus Adolphus College from 1945 1947. She was united in marriage to Sherman Burns April 3, 1948. The couple made their home on a farm near Comfrey and Darfur Minnesota. They moved to Humboldt in 1971 as Sherman worked for Land O Lakes in Fort Dodge. In 1975 the couple returned to Minnesota and then retired in White Bear Lake.
Candace was a member United Church of Christ Church. She started singing in choirs at the age of 16 and was Choir Director at the Comfrey Church from 1951- 1971 as well as teaching music in Comfrey Public School for 2 years. She also worked as a teacher aide in Humboldt for 2 years. Candace was very involved in many Church and Community organizations as well as being involved in her children's activities.
Candace is survived by her children, Steven (Zola) Burns of White Bear Lake, Mn, Paul (Nancy) Burns of Eagan, Mn, Carol Burns of Mountain View, Ca, Linda (Curt) McBride of North Liberty, Ia; 4 grandchildren, Amy Knieriem of Fort Dodge, Zachary (Sheena) Burns, Eagan, Mn, Jacob Burns, St. Paul, Mn, Noah Burns Eagan, Mn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sherman Burns, sisters, Josephine Nordquist, Alta Cade and brother John Westberg.
